My name is Ruth and I have been practising Counselling, and Psychotherapy for over 15 years and Supervision for over 10 years.

My aim is to offer a space for you to talk and be heard, to say what you need to say, to make meaning of whatever is important for you.

My core philosophy is that in the right environment every individual has the capacity and resilience to make the right choices for themselves, and to find their way through the circumstances that they have to face. As a Counsellor I aim to work with you to create the environment that will facilitate and support your journey.

My aim as a counsellor within each session is to work with you to create a place where there is sufficient trust and sufficient confidence to make it safe. A place where all that is happening and all that has happened can be expressed and heard even if it is raw and painful. Where nothing that is said, and nothing that is felt will be rejected or dismissed. A place to explore changes and to test out different reactions and find the way through that works best for you.

What actually happens in a counselling session is that you have a place to talk in confidence about whatever you want.
To make this happen – contact me and we can arrange an initial time to meet.
We can then discuss what you want from the counselling time and what I can offer.
Generally this will be a 50 minute session once a week at the same time each week.
We can discuss how many Counselling sessions you would like
And find a mutually suitable time.
My rate is £50 per session to be paid by bank transfer on the day or Cheque or cash.

All my counselling is currently using Zoom for a video session.
This does not require you to have any software but simply to click a link sent to you

After April 12th I will be working from my Counselling room in the centre of Romsey.
This is easily accessible by Train and Bus and there is one hour on-street parking available.
I have a screen to divide the room for a more COVID secure area if you require that.
